Uncharted Whisky Co. 10yo Mixtape#1 Blended Malt Whisky - Oloroso Sherry Octave (70cl, 56.5%)

Welcome to our latest series of bottlings; The Hand-Drawn Collection.  Each bottling will be a micro batch, each hand bottled, individually numbered and labelled with hand written labels.  

Introducing, Mixtape #1, our first ever blended malt. Each component of this blend was distilled in the Highland region and matured in ex-bourbon wood- until Uncharted Whisky got it. The liquid was blended and filled into a refill oloroso octave- the perfect vessel for adding complexity and sweetness without bulldozing the spirit character of our first blend.  This release represents just 77 bottles, aged 10 years, and bottled at cask strength,

 

Named for the nostalgic- and often pain staking- labour of love that was creating a mixtape. This is our first foray into a compilation album. Featuring hits such as shaved oak, hints of sherry, spiced vanilla and honey red apple.

Nose

Light and airy. Notes of honey, cereal and ripe red apples accompany a touch of galaxy caramel.

 

Palate

This delicate dram coats the mouth eliciting honey, malted barley, oak, vanilla and florals.

 

Finish

This bright and zingy whisky is slow to leave. Florals are the first to go allowing the deep oak to step forward. Aromatic spices are left to turn the lights off and lock up.
