Part of Diageo's Special Releases 2015. Very fruity and meaty, with Lagavulin's trademark smoke not far behind. A big, uncompromising whisky, and one that Lagavulin fans will enjoy.
Nose: Very sooty, warm lemon rather than zestiness. Warming, rounded wood spice. Water livens up proceedings.
Palate: Plenty of peat smoke, oatcakes and salted caramel richness.
Finish: Dry and sooty.
Overall: Clean as well as dusty (pretty sure that does make sense in this case) - the most affordable Special Release of 2015 and always worth getting hold of.
