James Allardice founded The Glendronach distillery at Boynsmill House alongside the River Burn back in 1826, and now the distillery is celebrating its 200th anniversary! This commemorative 14-year-old single malt is an opulent expression combining Glendronach's signature combo of oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry cask maturation, alongside a small number of casks selected by master blender Rachel Barrie that previously held claret red wine. A homage to the many soirees that Allardice was known to enjoy, this third cask variety brings elegant fruit-filled layers to the nutty, chocolatey malt at its heart.
