This single malt from Knockdhu was selected by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. for The Golden Cut Collection. Distilled in 2016, the whisky spent nine years maturing, finishing up with a stay in a marsala wine cask for a profile laden with spiced plums, boiled sweeties, and poached fruit. A release of 354 bottles.
Nose
Boiled sweets, raisin-studded fudge, waves of cinnamon.
Palate
Poached plums, dusted with cakey spices, with sweet, juicy barley beneath.
Finish
Fruit loaf, woody spice, caramelised biscuits.
