    Nose

The initial nose gives loads of spiceiness, very punchy on the nose with a good waft of the alcohol coming to smack you in the face, stereotypical of a very young whisky.

    On The Palate

Quite fruity, hints of Strawberries, stoned fruits, spicey nutmeg and cloves.

Without water I find the spices a bit too overpowering leaving a tingling in the mouth, sadly it doesn't linger about long and you've to delve in for a second sip to remind yourself of the taste.

Adding water fairly softens the dram and brings out notes of oak and leather, not unpleasent in anyway, the addition of water actually helps the finish, aids it to hang around a wee bit more.

    Verdict

For me personally its too spicey and dry there are decent enough notes of fruit and a little smoke coming through. It's 3 years old and shows it. However its far better than most whiskies that are realeased at that age. Is it something I'd spend £85.00 on?? Nope!!

    Score: 2/10

    Value

This seems roughly in line with M&H single casks, some will say it’s a lot for 3yo whisky but they do have considerable angels share to contend with.
